Bermuda makes a perfect chrismas gift !

I have a book full of tatting patterns which I have bought ages ago when I was in my home country. The patterns don't have much description and I usually get into trouble tatting them. This time I jot got inspired by one of the motifs and tried to design my own! Guess what..Bermuda was born ! :)
Then I tried it on a pink slippers and I loved the outcome :) I think it really makes a perfect gift for Christmas !
I have put the pattern here for those interested in making it. It took me a long time to draw the pattern and yet it could have been smoother. I am not sure whats the best way to draw my patterns. How do you draw your tatting patterns ? Is there a software you use ? Leave me a comment and help me out please !
This pattern is made of two phases.
1.a - Ring 3-3-3
1.b - Chain 8
1.c - Ring 5-5-5-5
1.d - Ring 5-5-6-6-5-5
1.e - Ring 5-5-5-5
1. f - Chain 8
*Repeat steps above 3 times

2.a - Chain 3-5-5-5
2.b - Ring 5-5
2.c - Chain 5-5-5-3
2.d - Ring 5-5-5-5
2.e - Chain 3--5-5-5
2.f - Ring 5-5-5-5
2.g- Ring 5-5
2.h- Chain 5-5-5-3

Flower Diamond

Following my previous work I really loved making another pendant and wait ! this time I came up with my own design :) Its a very simple one but I like it as I came up with the idea myself for the first time. Here is the result :
I have put the pattern here for those interested. Feel free to use it and send me comments and pictures of your adventures :).

Wondrous Window

I chose a very pretty and elegant pendant pattern from Yarnplayer's blog.

I really like the necklace. Here is how I made it:

(I am not a lawyer but after doing some research about patterns and copyrights I think it is fine to come up with my own recipe of wondrous window so I had posted the steps and number of stitches by looking at her work. However, per Yarnplayer's request I am removing them from my blog as I do respect her request.)

The tricky part was connecting chains in step 2 to chains from step 2 of the previous round. I had to flip the pattern over to do it properly but at last I figured it out ! Thanks to Yarnplayer for such a pretty design !

Square Block

I tried another beautiful design from Jon's designs. I really like the design and the four pretty white squares she has made. I wanted to twist the colors and see the result. Well, It didn't come out as I thought it would ! so I stopped after making only two squares ;) Here is how they look :

Nevertheless, the design is very elegant and I want to share it here with you from Jon's blog :

[As much as the whole tatting adventures I have is a matter of my passion, sharing and art, it is not for many other people out there. So I need to remove the pattern.]
I hope to grow in my tatting skills so that one day I can put designs of my own ! until then I will try to tat and tat and improve ...

start tatting and send me your beautiful motifs :)

flower bouquet

I saw a pretty image of a tatted motif online sometime ago but I couldnt find any guide or pattern to be able to tat it. So i thought maybe I should be brave enough and give it a try only by looking at the picture !! I started guessing the number of stitches ! I did that and here is the result :

I have drawn the pattern based on the numbers I used. I like it overall; the only thing is that I think 6-7-7-6 chain should have been a little longer so that flowers would show themselves better. So i think you can try something like 7-8-8-7 or maybe even 7-9-9-7.
I am going to name my second motif 'Flower Bouquet' :) Try it and send me pictures of yours :)

Magic Moment

I tatted 'Magic Moment' designed by Jon Yuseff as my first serious adventure in tatting after a very long time. Stitches could have been more in a row and say cleaner overall but I am fairly happy with the result as I didn't think I can do it at the beginning ;). I also put it in frame :)

The pattern is so pretty that i would like to re-share it with you here while appreciating Jon for such a beautiful design.

So I guess this is officially my first challenge ! Stay tuned for more to come :)
